Three pieces form one instant
A date and clock time are not sufficient by themselves. The calculation also needs a geographical place and the timezone rules that applied there. Historical daylight-saving changes and regional time rules can affect conversion to universal time.
Coordinates are not decoration
Latitude and longitude are used in astronomical calculations and in deriving local angles. A similarly named city in another state or country can therefore produce the wrong chart. The platform stores the place label, coordinates and IANA timezone together so that the source of a calculation can be audited.
Approximate time must remain approximate
If the time comes from family memory, label it accordingly. Rectification is a separate interpretive process and should not be silently presented as an original record. The system preserves an accuracy status for exactly this reason.
Provider transparency
A chart should name its calculation provider, settings such as Ayanamsha and calculation time. If the provider is not configured, this platform keeps the request queued instead of inventing planetary positions.
